Sighlences (2025)

Sound waves of sighs; 3d print

"A Wailing Wall made from my libraries of sighs. This work is called Sighlences, a wordplay on silence and sigh. It fundamentally refers to the idea that sound art—in the sense that sound becomes art—does not sound outwardly, but is relocated into our imagination. And in this case, the sound waves are literally externalized; they are omitted, forming holes—embedded as negatives into this wall, so to speak sighed into it, or rather sighed out of the material. The sighs create voids: Sigh-lences."
